Job Description:

DiCE Molecules is focused on the development of DNA-programmed chemical synthesis and its application to drug discovery.  Our innovative platform unites the power of directed evolution with organic synthesis to identify and optimize hits against challenging pharmaceutical targets.

We seek an exceptional Scientist with a strong background in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and/or combinatorial chemistry.  The candidate’s primary responsibilities will include development and execution of chemistry strategy for DiCE’s research programs including development of DNA-compatible synthetic chemistry, library design, and progression of emerging hits into lead optimization.  In addition to providing strong scientific leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for organizing internal and external resources and collaborating across disciplines to ensure efficient research progress.  The preferred candidate will have a demonstrated track record of scientific success in a multidisciplinary environment.  An active laboratory program will be a key component of the role.

We seek an exceptional Research Associate or Senior Research Associate with a strong background in Organic Chemistry, Combinatorial Chemistry and/or Medicinal Chemistry.  The candidate’s primary responsibilities will include the development, synthesis, execution and analysis of combinatorial DNA-programmed libraries. Job Description:

Exciting opportunity in an early-stage startup focused on DNA programmed chemical synthesis to enable the discovery and evolution of small molecules for pharmaceutical applications.

We seek an exceptional full-time Corporate Controller with a small company background to support the team at DiCE Molecules.  The Corporate Controller, who will report to the CFO, will be responsible for managing all aspects of corporate accounting (general ledger, cost, AR/AP/payroll services and audit), valuations, registrations, tax accounting and reporting, and financial compliance and controls.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage all general accounting functions which include performing month-end close process, preparing and booking journal entries, account reconciliations for multiple business entities;
  • assure accuracy of all general ledger activity, including reconciliations of all necessary general ledger accounts, and review of general ledger activity;
  • oversee and manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll;
  • direct activities related to efficient cash collection and vendor payments and overall cash management;
  • oversee tax-related matters; coordinate with external tax team to ensure timely compliance and delivery of tax documents to investors;
  • oversee all audit processes, maintain relationships with external auditors and ensure compliance of GAAP requirements;
  • maintain and improve upon current accounting infrastructure to scale with business growth, including documentation of policies and procedures and ERP platform implementation;
  • implement, document and maintain a system of internal controls;
  • manage financial reporting for investor and board communication;
  • coordinate with FP&A on preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, and monitor / measure actual performance vs. budgets;
  • supervise accounting/finance staff, including hiring, training and maintaining adequate staffing levels, providing continuous coverage for all accounting/finance functions;
  • assist in due diligence related matters;
  • assist with special projects as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • 10 to 15 years of progressive experience, with a public / private profile preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required and CPA license preferred.
  • Experience in Life Sciences preferred.
  • Advanced MS Excel and data management skills are critical.

We are a startup with ~ 25 employees located in Redwood City, California. Join our team and take part in transforming traditional Medicinal Chemistry by performing optimization on a massive scale.

We seek an exceptional chemoinformatics scientist to join our Informatics team. Responsibilities include building and utilizing tools to analyze results from DNA-programmed libraries of small molecules to prioritize “hits” for resynthesis as well as identifying commercially available building blocks to develop structure activity relationships. The candidate will work closely with the chemistry team during the library design, synthesis, and hit profiling stages on multiple targets and libraries.

Candidate must (i) have a firm understanding of the medicinal chemistry process and drug property design (ii) be comfortable manipulating and drawing conclusions from large datasets, taking many factors and types of data into consideration and (iii) have familiarity and skills in chemoinformatics including physicochemical property prediction, library enumeration, chemical fingerprinting, and substructure searching. Familiarity with tools such as Pipeline Pilot, Vortex/Spotfire, Knime, R, Python, and experience with chemical registration databases (e.g. Dotmatics) is preferred.
